Expansion of the EUVE Science Archive: New Products and Services
Abstract
The public science archive for the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer (EUVE) satellite has been handling the storage, maintenance and distribution of EUVE mission data and software since 1992 July 24. The archive will release Volume 2.1, discs A, B, C of the EUVE CD-ROM, containing spectral data for eleven calibration targets, at the 183rd meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) in January 1994 and debut other data products and services. New services will include a new widget on the EUVE ADS node, access to the EUVE Bright Source List from ADS, and Gopher access to the EUVE archive. In addition, at the expiration of survey data rights this spring, the archive will be providing a number of new science data products and archive tools. Tools which are currently under investigation include the wide-area information system (WAIS), XMosaic, and World Wide Web. This paper gives an overview of current archive capabilities, discusses the new products and services which will be made available at the AAS and other products which will be released later this spring. This work has been supported by NASA contract NAS5-29298.
